Nearing The End......

Sadly, summer vacation is coming to an end and we are preparing for back to school. Summer in our house is filled with days of lounging, playing, late nights and sleeping in. We just aren't ready to go back to such a scheduled life. My hubby was home for lunch today and I couldn't resist this picture of he and Sawyer having lunch together at the kitchen island. Just one of the many things I love about the boys being home in the summer! Yesterday, we went to the new Super Walmart that just opened and got all of their school supplies. It seemed like there was ALOT of things on each of their list. Does everyone have to buy this much stuff or is it just our school??????

The weather is so fall like here today. I have the windows open and a great breeze is blowing with NO pig smell tonight! Remember, we have hogs on our farm and it can sometimes, if the wind is blowing in the right direction, smell pretty awful. My hubby says it smells like money, but come to think about it, he hasn't said that in quite some time cause the hog market isn't doing so good these days.
I guess no matter how much we would like for time to stand still, we must embrace each new chapter of our lives and make the most of it. Fall will be here in no time and before you know it, Christmas. We just need to take it all in and enjoy every minute! Here's to summer ending and new beginnings!!!! (this is where I hold up my margarita for a toast!)
Have a great weekend!

Your chalkboard wall in the background of the photo looks awesome!

I can't believe summer is almost over as well...with my job I really never had a summer! Looking forward to things slowing down for me a bit this fall.

I love the picture of all of the school supplies on the table!!! My son Blake is 13 and I could not believe all of the items that were on his list. All combined I think the supplies weigh more than he does...I thought about you yesterday...I was looking through a new magazine which showed a dresser and a huge frame on top of it that had been painted with chalkboard paint. I love the picture you have of the chalkboard wall in your home...that takes guts...and girl you've got em'.

That wall is so awesome. I love the hands...
I like that there is not a lot of routine in the summer....aside from B going to camp.
Hopefully this new chapter will bring you here for a sleepover.
I'm still keeping my fingers crossed.

Holy cow! That is a lot of school supplies :) I forgot to mention how much I LOVE your chalkboard wall. I will be needing to kill some space in my new kitchen and you better bet that it will involve chalkboard paint. I just bought a can of it!
Hope you enjoy the last of your summer days!

I think we spent close to $600 on back to school supplies, clothes, shoes, and registration. ye mami! Every year becomes more and more expensive. And now Ira wants a cell phone...
