Spreadin' The Love....

I don't know if you noticed the subtle change to my blog, but my friend Lyndsay who designed my logo and blog, freshened me up a bit by changing my background. She took a little time off due to having her second gorgeous baby, but she is back in business and debuting tomorow! She has some awesome banners and backgrounds to choose from. If you feel your blog needs some beautifying, just click on her button and she can help you out, AND at affordable prices!

You can also check out her personal blog as well. She has great style and a super cute family. If you decide to visit Lyndsay, take the time to leave her a comment. Ya know how we all love it when new people find our blog AND comment.

On that note, I hope you have a fun filled weekend with those you love!

My Brag Book....

Here are some snapshots of the boys. I have'nt bragged on them in a while, so I thought I'd show you what we've been up to around here...... For the most part, the boys get along really well. Clay is a good older brother, and still plays with Sawyer quite a bit. Sawyer TOTALLY looks up to Clay and thinks he's pretty cool.

Sawyer taking a break from swimming, and if you'll notice, he is holding fried chicken in each hand. You would never know it from looking at him, but this kid can EAT!!! I'm talking, he can eat 3 hot dogs on buns at one meal!

My soyboy's (that's what I call him) first airplane ride!

This is also Clay's first airplane ride. I do believe that this is where the strep throat started. He was feeling pretty bad at this point. Oooops, I hope he did'nt infect the whole plane! And then there is me, with not a stitch of make-up on feeling pretty darn relaxed thanks to my Xanax!

Making the boys clean up the yard after a big storm. The goofball in the back is Clay's good friend Jase. This storm actually did some damage. Half of a big old tree fell on my mother in laws car. YIKES!! All I have to say is it's a darn good thing we "country bumpkins" buried the tramploine, or we would have lost another one! (For you first time readers, that's in a whole other post)
I hope you are enjoying your lazy days of summer, as it seems to be flying by! Gotta register the boys for school tomorow! I know, right!!!

Tired....

Is there anyone else out there who feels this way??? I get so tired of the day after day after day of everything being the same. SOOOO predictable! I have never been one to be able to express verbally or in writing my feelings the way some of you can. I am just in a MAJOR rut. That pretty much sums it up. I need something, but I'm not even sure what it is!On that depressing note, I hope your skies are filled with sunshine!

I know some of you read her blog, but don't know her in person. I have had the priviledge of calling her my friend for 4 years now. We met because our boys are the same age and we began talking while waiting to pick them up from school. She has a very thought provoking blog, and takes some of the most amazing photos! If you have'nt already, you need to check out The Mezzanine, and tell her Tricia sent you!

Weekend Plans.....

This weekend, my hubby and I will be attending his 20th high school class reunion. Because he graduated in the 80's, it got me thinking about all the really bodacious trends of that time. I don't know about you all, but I tried and would have KILLED for hair like this! Not only did I LOVE this band, but I loved their hair more!! They were so rad!!

Do you remember this........ ahhhh yes, Aqua Net! Like, that is how we got that totally bitchin' hair! Who could ever forget the horrible smell, it like totally gagged me with a spoon!!

And nothing says 80's quite like the people of Dynasty! I used to watch this with my mom while laying in the waterbed with popcorn and a Pepsi. Ahhhh, those were the days!
I hope you have a great weekend. If you have the time sit back, relax and pop open a Bartles & James wine cooler. :)

Keepin' It Real.......

This my friends, is as real as it gets. Our workspace, where the magic happens. Not exactly what you pictured? I know. We make great candles and get dirty doin' it. I have to admit that this is also how I cook.

Go ahead and enlarge the picture, you know you want to.

Just wanted to show you the not so glamourous side of candle making. This mess drives my mom INSANE! She is always trying to keep it cleaned up, but to no avail. I have to be honest, it does'nt really bother me, except when the floor is so slippery from spilled wax that you could fall, then I know its time to clean up a bit. Here's to keepin' it real!

Just In....

New candle scents have just arrived, and I could'nt wait to tell you all about them......Back by popular demand..... Strawberry Rhubarb Pie- a scrumptious scent of fresh strawberries and rhubarb blended with sugar and hints of buttery crust. YUMMO!!
Fresh sliced cucumbers- Smells exactly like a slice of cucumber. This is a great scent to freshen your home and remove those nasty kitchen odors, such as fish.

Apple & Pumpkin Strudel- The perfect blend of juicy apples and pumpkin, with hints of flaky crust and powdered sugar. mmmmmm. Can you almost taste it?

Lemon Verbena- This is the best lemon scent I have found to date. If you like lemon, then this is a must have!

Sweet Tooth- A to die for scent of cut out cookies, with creamy frosting and don't forget the sprinkles. This also has hint's of cherries. Even if you don't like bakery scents, give it a try, I think you will be suprised!

The new scents will be available for purchase next week.

Coming soon.....
Little Black Dress
Cherries and Chestnuts
Essence of Jesus

Under The Weather.....

Since last Friday, I have been sick with strep throat. YUCK! I used to get this ALL and I do mean ALL the time when I was little, but only have had it a few times as an adult. I know the symptoms like the back of my hand. The biggest being severe aching. I mean it is so bad, I can't even be touched. Second being a horrible headache and lastly, a throat that feels like I have swallowed glass! So I have been popping these babies every four hours to try to take the edge off......
And eating lots and lots of this....

and this......

I am on a new antibiotic now which is working soooooo much better, Thank You Lord! I have'nt been this sick in years, and I hope it's many, many more before I am again. Did I mention, our whole family has had strep in the last week? To say the least, we are pretty much a mess! I will be back full force in a few days. I hope your days have been going better than ours!

Wishing......

While in Dallas, We went to Ikea one afternoon and I just LOVE this strore. Now to all you big city girls, understand that I don't get to go to these fun stores like Anthro and Ikea very often, or Home Goods for that matter. The closest Ikea is 5hrs away and the closest Anthro is 4 hrs away. So anytime I'm near one, I gotta go! These are a few of the things that I wanted BADLY, but my hubby had to remind me that they just would'nt fit in my suitcase. :(
The next couch I get will be something like this...... There is NOTHING that I do'nt love about this couch!

I would have to have a chair to go with the couch, and this floral beauty would have to be the one. I would need an ottoman to match of course!

Love this black frame. It looks like a mirror, but if I remember correctly, it was just a frame. Gotta have me this......

The industrial look of this candlelier is what I love most about it......

A cool linen storage thingy. What would I do with this? I have no idea, but I'm sure I could figure it out.......

I am a sucker for storage containers. I think a small square of chalkboard paint right on the front would make it even better....

Now that you have seen all of the things I could'nt have, I will show you the one thing I did get. Nothing special, just a funky wine holder. I mounted it horizontal under my kitchen cabinets.......

The best part is that next weekend, I am heading to Chicago to market and I am going to make the time, no matter what, to shop Ikea. I'll let you know how many things I come back with. And this time, I'm driving and I've got a Tahoe so LOTS of goodies will fit!! So any of you bloggers out there, (like Kasey and Amy, hint, hint), who live in the area, and want to meet up, let me know, It would be so fun!

I'm Baaaack......

Did I ever mention what a crazy month June was going to be for us? I used that time to take a break from blogging and believe me, I missed it. Ya know the saying, absence makes the heart grow fonder, well that is true in my case. Before I decided to take a little hiatus, I just was'nt feelin' it. My heart was'nt in it. But now I feel refreshed and ready to blog!!! I have so much catching up to do on all of your blogs as well. I did check in on you all a couple of times, but did'nt take the time to leave a comment on each one. But just know that I missed my blogging friends! ALOT!!!!! Ok, so now I want to tell you that we just returned from Dallas Texas where we spent the last week with my husbands oldest brother Todd and his girls. That Texas heat is almost unbearable. Praise the Lord he had a pool which is where we spent most of our days. I did however learn the hard way on the 4th that the heat and wine don't mix very well.:) We spent most days relaxing by the pool with no plans BUT, we did have one thing planned that we absolutely could NOT leave Dallas without seeing. And if you remember, my little Sawyer is a HUGE Cowboys fan, so we of course had to tour the new Dallas Stadium! Let me just start by saying, No expense was spared in this place! Sawyer waiting to go inside, wearing his coveted Tony Romo jersey. He was so sure that we would see him! Isn't that cute????
Our tour guide told us that this jumbo tron was literally the biggest in the world. AND the Jonas Brothers held a concert there and before the concert, they played Halo on it. Both of my boys jaws dropped, (as well as my husbands) because that apparantly would be AWESOME!!!!

There is still some work to be done and the field is'nt down yet.

There are pictures similar to these in each of the elevators.

This is a room that you are only allowed to enter if you purchase a certain type of ticket. It was gorgeous!

They allowed us to go into one of the suites that can be purchased. This is how the other half lives! It was also gorgeous! Clay sitting at the bar, wishing we were the "other half"!

Sawyer standing in the Cowboys locker room! There was still a little more work being done in there. I told him to envision in his mind which locker will be his someday. Did I mention he thinks he will play for the Cowboys? I tell him " go for it buddy, dream big!"

I love this Cowboys star light. This is where the players will enter and exit the field.

My hubby Tork with my boys and my nieces Talon and Tori. We took soooo many more pics cause Sawyer did'nt want to miss a thing, but obviously could'nt show them all. I think the only thing better would be to actually get to go to a game! Oh, I forgot to mention that Sawyer told us that when he plays for the Cowboys, he will buy us one of the suites to watch the games! Hey, if that ever comes true, all of you girls WILL be invited! :)
