I heart Amy Butler......

I cant sew, not even a button! I know, I know, I am ashamed to even admit it. But, if I could sew, I would sew everything in Amy Butler fabric! Im talking pillows, purses, clothes, you name it, I would sew it! But since I can't, I have found some really great finds on etsy and I thought I would share a couple with you....

This AMAZING purse was made by Jeanne and you can find this and many other great things at http://www.abushelandapeck.etsy.com/ ! She is so talented and I want one of everything she makes! I have several of Jeanne's creations in the store and lots more coming, including of course, some frames made with Amy Butler paper.

I have a huge assortment of these headbands from http://www.precocious.etsy.com/ and I love them all! The best thing about these headbands are they wont give you a headache and each one is reversible! Two headbands in one... you cant beat that.
I would highly recommend Amy's book as shown above, its full of so many great ideas from decorating to fashion, Not to mention its a fabulous coffee table book!

More of the store....

Because I love to cook, I like to carry some of my favorite Food Network cookbooks in the store. All of these are full of really good recipes. My favorite is Everyday Pasta, because in my opinion, you can never have to much pasta!

Hanging on the old ladder, is a french inspired table runner and a grocery sack holder. The sack holders have been so popular because finally, you can recycle and look good doing it! It would look great in any kitchen. As always, if you see anything you cant live with out, just contact me via e-mail and It can be yours! Have a great Thursday!

Pugsly...

This has absolutley nothing to do with Backyard Candle Co. , but after seeing the movie Marley and Me, (which is a MUST see) I had to show some pics of our precious, but not so little dog Pugsly. He is such a good dog. A bit lazy, but very good. He LOVES to eat and will literally whine until we feed him but he is so loveable and loves everyone. In the morning he comes out of his kennel at his own leisure (he cant sleep with us, he snores SO loud) and goes out to do his deed, eats a little and then jumps up in this chair and stays there sleeping all day long until the boys come home from school. If someone is sitting in this chair and he wants it, he will pace around the living room and stop and look at you and whine until you get up. Its hilarious! He has been a member of our family for 5 years. He was a Christmas present for our boys and we hope to have him for many many more years. Look at that face! So loveable.
"You are disturbing my sleep!"

Check this out....

Love this old vintage chandelier. It would look cute with candles or if you desire, you can rewire it and actually use it. It sells for $60.

This old chair is my favorite place to sit in the store. Its for sale at $99.

This is one of the new scents Ginger Lime. Its a wonderful fragrance-very fresh. If you are a lime lover, your gonna want this one!

This pink chair I just added to the store today. It is only $19.99. My friend Bonnie helped me (I mean, did it for me) recover the seat with a linen fabric. Thanks Bonnie!

This old shabby cupboard is filled to the brim with our soaps. I LOVE this cupboard! It has old ripped wallpaper inside of it and I wouldnt change a thing!

I am anxiously awaiting our new spring merchandise! I love the fresh, clean feeling that spring brings with it!

Just added to the store this week are these cute mugs that we made into candles! We have French Vanilla Coffee in the caffe mugs. These come with the saucer and are much bigger than appears in the photo.

These are the black and white "places" mugs and we have pink sugar in them.

Not pictured are the birthday cake mugs. These come of course with birthday cake scent in them. They would make the cutest birthday gift. The best thing about using mugs is that when the candle is burned down, you can use it for your coffee!

The Whislers....

I thought it would be fun to introduce you to some very important people in my life. This is my husbands brother Trent and his beautiful family. His wife Teresa and daughters Mckenna on the right and Mariah on the left and I cant forget to mention Max! Unfortunatley, they live all the way in Lancaster Pennsylvania, but we do manage to see them a couple times a year. Every summer we visit them and then the girls come home with us and stay for a couple of weeks! It is always sooooo much fun for me cause I get to have girl time! It is so hard to belive that they are both teenagers! Mckenna was the flower girl in our wedding when she was just three years old! Where does time go? Did I mention how talented they ALL are? Not only is Teresa an AMAZING cook, this women CAN SING!!!! She and Trent both sang in our wedding and Im telling you, there wasnt a dry eye in the church! Mckenna is following in her parents footsteps and is also an unbelievable singer! She has been selected for the second time to be a part of the Gibson-Baldwin Grammy Jazz ensemble! This lucky girl gets to go to the Grammys AGAIN!! I am so proud of her! Mariah is also a wonderful singer, but her passion is dance! This girl has got MOVES! Remember their names cause Im telling you, these girls are going places!!!!
Not only are these girls beautiful on the outside, they are even more beautiful on the inside! They have the biggest hearts and love and respect their parents! But even better than that, they have a love for the Lord! Trent and Teresa have done an amazing job raising these girls and I love them all very much. I think Im missing them today, obviously! Well anyway, I hope you enjoyed meeting them!
